"Zig when others zag" describes my approach to most all facets of my life -- and photography is no exception. My first professional photography job was in 1988 while I was a senior at Missouri State University. Since then IÕve worked for a variety of photography jobs and for a number of photo studios throughout the United States. In 2001 I decided it was time to become my own boss and thatÕs when I officially launched Daniel J. Watkins Photography.
What I enjoy so much about weddings is the wide spectrum of emotions that a camera eye sees Š from heartfelt joy and happy tears during the ceremony to the laughter and spontaneity at the reception. Preserving these emotions is truly an awesome responsibility if you think about the importance of a newlywed coupleÕs family legacy. When a bride and groom choose me to photograph their wedding, I do everything I can to make sure that the images I create will allow them to look back on at their 50th anniversary to relive those many emotions all over again.
If you are from St. Louis Š you are probably wondering where I went to high school. :) WellÉI grew up in Webster Groves and attended St. Louis University High. I have a degree in Marketing / Advertising from Missouri State and an MBA from Saint Louis University. IÕve been married to my wonderful and supportive wife Maria (also an artist) since 1997 and we have three awesome kids (who often zig when others zag). I enjoy playing and watching hockey, spending time outdoors with my family, and my favorite place to vacation is Glacier National Park in Montana.
